Archway Contracting

This project is coordinated by Knight Remodeling who hired Archway Contracting to install the tile.  This remodel involved extending a master bedroom as well as increasing the size of the master bathroom. 

The shower includes an inset shelf, marble bench and glass enclosure.  Ceramic tile was used for the wainscoting and marble tile was installed on the floor and vanity back-splash.  Here are the pictures........

About the Project

  We came in to a gutted bathroom and prepared the floor for in-floor hot water piping.  The heated piping continued into the shower floor.

  Once the plumber installed the pipes, we poured the shower floor with a waterproof membrane liner.  Then we continued out the bathroom and finished pouring the entire floor.

  After the floors had dried we installed a waterproof/anti-fracture membrane over the shower floor and walls as well as the main bathroom floor.  This finished the preparation work for the tile.

  We started by installing the tile on the shower floor, which is a marble mosaic from the Tile Shop.

  The tile chosen for the wainscoting was a 3" x 6" ceramic subway tile that is capped with a chairrail piece.  This combination for the bathroom walls reached 4 feet up the walls and continued into the shower at this level.

  The upper half of the shower is a rhombus marble mosaic tile in a diagonal style.

  Once all the tile and grout was installed, the entire installation was sealed to help resist water stains.
