Quail Creek Master Bath Remodel

This project started with a master bathroom that poorly utilized a large space.  There were two walls protruding into the space, blocking light and limiting the walking path.  One wall was removed and half of another.  The shower, tub surround, counter-top, floor and ceiling were all redone.  Take a look......

      AFTER

The wall to the right of the fiberglass shower divided the bathroom and blocked light from illuminating the shower.  In the original shower, this wall housed the supply plumbing to the shower and a vent stack.  These lines were rerouted and the wall was removed.  The shower was prepped and tiled with a mix of travertine natural stone and glass tile.

      AFTER

These pictures depict how we utilized the wasted space in this wall.  In addition to creating a shelf by the counter and the bathtub, it allows the light above the mirror to shine into the tub area.  The new counter-top consists of limestone tile for a soft touch.

      AFTER

The fiberglass access panel on the front of the tub was removed and a natural stone tile face frame was installed to increase the beauty of the bathroom.  The accent strip consists of of a mix between glass and limestone tile and continues around the bathtub and through the shower.  The wainscoting is a 12" ceramic set in brick pattern.  The floor tile is laid in a pinwheel pattern.

About the Materials

This project consisted of a mix of limestone, porcelain and glass.  The limestone is a polished travertine with medium variation in color.  The porcelain had an earth tone with texture.

The accent strip and the back of the inset shelves was a mixture of brown glass and polished travertine.  The tile counter-top is made with the limestone and utilizes specialty edge piece.
